The GMP problem
The organization is the nature of the GMP; to analyze, to improve, to help, to perfect, to manage the movements and the stocks of containers are the daily missions of GMP. To automate the movements of every machines on the site and be able to optimize the movements of containers, the GMP quickly equipped itself with the software NAVIS, for the hardware, GMP called on to IPO Technologie for the supply of a strong and reliable panel PC allowing them to warn the drivers in real time of the state of the terminal, their affectation, the location of load or unloading of containers.
The IPO Technologie solution
More than 17 000 containers are every week handled by the GMP on the France terminal. The biggest ships can be welcomed (16000 EVP – 400 m of length). To follow immediately the movements, to reduce the maintenance and to avoid the errors, a reliable, strong and successful material was necessary to resist in extremes conditions of use (steady rhythm, temperature variations, luminosity, fluctuation in tension).
VITUS-15SDA was thus imperative, with its integrated frame. It is also fanless, waterproof IP65 on front face, easy to settle and possesses a large number of connections and options allowing it to adapt to all the environments.
VITUS was thus settled on 63 trolleys and 10 gantries of the France terminal (65 found their place in the other terminals), the proposal was completed by 15 panels PC inserted into access points allowing to manage the traffic of 1700 trucks by days and appointment for loads / unloadings.
Set up with the new ERP solution, VITUS were chosen for their best price-performance ratio, their touchscreen facilitates the work of the dockers and their reliability allowed to reduce considerably the maintenance. Their connection adapts in real time to the calculation algorithmics of the ERP software, the drivers are the warned according to their availability and to their movement on the site for a faster and more comfortable treatment of every mission.
Strong of this successful collaboration, both companies think about new equipments taking into account the technological breakthroughs of IPO Technologie products and specific needs of GMP.
